Aurora Borealis at Moraine State Park, PA on 10/10/2024.
Wow, November already?! Time is such a weird thing. I’m sitting on my living room sofa this morning with the sliding door cracked open and the sound of the morning coming into our small two-bedroom apartment. It’s windy this morning and I am starting to see cars through the thinning trees. Pretty soon the trees will be bare, and nature will go to sleep.
October presented us with an opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis! The photo above was taken at a state park just north of the city of Pittsburgh. This is something I have longed to see firsthand but have only seen in pictures. So, seeing this phenomenon without traveling closer to the Poles was incredible! I did not know that it could reach us here in the state of Pennsylvania. This experience inspired me to learn more about this fascinating phenomenon, so I found a cool video on NASA Space Place for kids. You can watch it here. Also, NASA/NOAA just announced that the sun is officially at solar maximum, “The solar cycle is the natural cycle of the Sun as it transitions between low and high activity. Roughly every 11 years, at the height of the solar cycle, the Sun’s magnetic poles flip — on Earth, that’d be like the North and South Poles swapping places every decade — and the Sun transitions from sluggish to active and stormy.” Here’s the full article.
I know I’m a little bit late to post this month as the new moon reached its peak on Friday morning at 8:42 a.m. Eastern, but the fresh energy is still with us. It’s amazing, the more I observe the natural cycles of the Earth and our solar system, the more I observe how it feels at certain times. I woke Friday morning and felt like a brand new person and I was in a great mood. I didn’t start paying attention to the Moon cycle until I started Reiki, and now, it is just a way of life, and it has changed my life – or should I say – Reiki helped me to become more aligned with my soul’s purpose and direction and helped me to connect with myself and the cosmos in a way I hadn’t before. It helped to give me the courage I needed to make the life-changing decision to divorce and start over. That was three years ago now, and life is really starting to settle after that in-between period, something I am extremely grateful to report now.
Healing With April is now here, and I am taking new clients! I am also grateful to now have a business partnership, giving me the chance to build a clientele and really put my Master certificate to work. Becoming a Reiki Master was not the goal – the goal is to embody the Way of the Master, which is ongoing learning through experience. Maybe at the end of this life I will have more words of wisdom to share. Until then, I am on the Way, always learning and applying what I learn to self-healing and with my clients.
